Final year students’ visit to the Tema port

On 14 January 2025, students in Terminales A and B had the opportunity to visit the port of Tema, just a few kilometres from Accra. The aim of the field trip was to discover one of Ghana’s most important port installations. Accompanied by Mrs Lalama, Mr Adoboe and Mr Le Mercier, the students first attended a presentation on the operation of the port, its role in international trade and its economic impact on the country. They then visited the docks, where they were able to observe the different types of ships that arrive and depart each day, as well as the containers of goods being unloaded and loaded. The tour gave the students a better understanding of the importance of ports in economic development and world trade. It was an enriching and educational experience that prompted many questions and discussions among the students.
